Population: definition and scope

People whose usual residence is in the area on July 1, 2025. The headline is the latest value approved within this website’s frozen release. It is not a promise that no newer upstream product exists. The accessible table retains more precision than the rounded headline.

Limitations and comparability

Annual Population Estimates Program estimates; a revised vintage can change earlier years. This is not a census count.

The annual series uses one Census vintage, which may revise values published in previous vintages. It must not be spliced with ACS population totals or labeled as a decennial census count.

PEP is an estimate program rather than a sample survey. Sampling margins of error are not published; future vintages can revise earlier estimates. Cross-area associations do not establish individual circumstances or explain what caused a difference.

Source data, calculation and CSV downloads

Use the POPESTIMATE year column in the original Vintage 2025 file. National and state observations use the state totals file; county observations use the county totals file. The annual-history download keeps all six supported years together.
