Corrections and upstream revisions

How to report a data or interpretation error and how corrections remain visible in a frozen publication.

Report the precise issue

Email info@admk.com with the page address, indicator or table, place, reference period, and the specific figure or passage that needs review. Include an original producer link where possible. Do not send individual medical, education or benefit records.

For a download discrepancy, include the frozen release ID and affected CSV row or source variable. For a boundary issue, identify the Census or institution identifier, not only the name. For an interpretation concern, explain which universe, period, denominator or comparison may have been misstated.

Review against the source

A reported issue is checked against the retained artifact, source schema, indicator definition and transformation. Missing-value handling, units, thresholds, geography and survey-period labels are part of that review. A descriptive difference is not accepted as evidence of significance or policy causation.

A website error is distinguished from an original producer revision. Correcting a formula, denominator or label must update all affected outputs together. Material methodological changes require review; they are not made by silently mapping a new definition onto an old series.

Keep a meaningful record

A correction record will identify what changed, why, which entities or indicators were affected, the source evidence and the new publication date or release. An upstream revision identifies the producer and vintage change. Older frozen files are retained with their original identity; any known defect is described beside their record.

October 1, 2026: corrected four universe labels in apd-2026-10-01-r3. Unemployment uses the civilian labor force age 16 and older; child poverty uses under-18 residents with poverty status determined; rent-burden measures use cash-rent households with a computable ratio. Prior files retain their original broader labels and should be read with this correction. No observation or formula changed. Saved r1 queries still resolve to r1.

Contact and responsibility

American Public Data is published by ADMK Studio S.L.. Editorial correspondence goes to info@admk.com. Legal and privacy requests use info@admk.com or the registered address shown in the legal notice. No response deadline or independent audit is claimed.

The methodology, source catalog and update record explain the evidence retained behind a figure. A correction should improve reproducibility and interpretation rather than merely refresh a title or date.
