Source and publication updates

A dated record of the source releases and website snapshot used in this publication.

October 1, 2026: definition and tool corrections

Snapshot apd-2026-10-01-r3 clarifies the denominator labels for unemployment, child poverty and both renter cost-burden measures. The source-table universe is retained separately. Observations, formulas, source versions and capability rules are unchanged. Editorial ordering exports are reissued as apd-editorial-2026-10-01-r4 with the same values and positions. Earlier releases remain available.

The review checked the retained ACS table shells and Census variable definitions and recomputed 89,488 ACS observations without arithmetic differences. This was a Codex-assisted source and arithmetic review for the publisher, not independent human statistical certification. The review record identifies its scope and evidence. Search, county chart labels, selected-year context, error recovery and comparison downloads were corrected together.

September 30, 2026: editorial and navigation expansion

Added ten descriptive state ranking pages and eight original data articles, with inspectable Census calculations, complete ranking exports and interactive article selections. The editorial ordering release is apd-editorial-2026-09-30-r2; the original apd-2026-09-30-r1 data files and registry remain unchanged.

Added dedicated places and tools directories, a geographic finder and clearer research controls. Article editorial dates are distributed through September; first publication is recorded as September 30, when the articles were added. Observation periods, editorial dates, publication dates and data reviews are separately labeled. Rankings order exact point estimates, without composite scores or statistical rank assurance.

September 30, 2026 — initial website release

Published frozen snapshot apd-2026-09-30-r1. The release includes 29 concepts, national/state/county profiles, five question pages, a housing report, typed search, comparisons and reusable files. Acquisition, validation and website publication occurred on September 30, 2026. These dates are separate from observation periods and original source publication.

The ACS source is the 2024 five-year product covering 2020–2024, released January 29, 2026. The Census release schedule was checked during development; earlier December 2025 schedules were superseded. PEP uses Vintage 2025, with national/state release January 27 and county release March 26, 2026, covering July 1 annual dates through 2025.

What is preserved

The source manifest includes original URLs, dates and original-file SHA256. Selected ACS raw geographic rows and dictionaries are retained; original PEP CSVs are available. Frozen exports keep their versioned paths. A latest metadata file identifies the currently approved website release without rewriting old observations.

The chart, table, profile, answer and download use the same normalized observations. A correction to a website calculation and an upstream revision are different events and will be identified separately in the correction or revision record.

What a future update requires

ADMK Studio S.L. is responsible for source review, planned monthly for links and availability and around each producer’s annual release schedule. No unattended scheduler is active. New files are acquired into a new release, schemas and geographic IDs checked, calculations reconciled, rights and comparability reviewed, and material methodological changes reviewed before publication.

If an acquisition fails, the approved snapshot remains available. The website does not replace unavailable official observations with unreviewed secondary numbers. A changed year in a title is not considered a data update. Older observation periods remain identified and can still be useful when the source is properly described.

Reading current and historical status

This page describes the source status at the September 30, 2026 review. It does not claim every candidate endpoint is currently downloadable or every upstream table has been integrated. Catalog records remain separate from the maintained Census collection.

To reproduce a figure, save its release identifier and source product with the download or citation. To report a changed official source or a broken link, include the page URL and producer documentation in a message to the publisher.
