ACS 2020–2024 Census data: community indicators

Selected original Census five-year detailed tables for national, state and county profiles, with definitions, exact source cells and reusable calculations.

Partially integrated · selected concepts and source-supported geographies

What has been integrated

The collection retains selected original detailed tables from the 2024 ACS five-year table-based Summary File. Source counts, medians and means remain distinct from website-derived percentages. The geographic directory supplies exact identifiers and names; rows are joined by those identifiers rather than display names.

The original data describe the full 2020–2024 period. The source release date is January 29, 2026. The website acquired and published its frozen snapshot on September 30, 2026. A later annual release requires a new immutable snapshot; this file does not claim to be a live latest-data service.

Coverage and preview

All national, state and county records in the selected geographic universe are retained, including DC and county equivalents. Puerto Rico and other territories, cities, metros, school districts and tribal areas are outside this release. Source sentinels and unavailable estimates remain missing with a separate status.

The preview below shows one approved calculated indicator. Other included concepts cover age, households, income, poverty, employment, housing, insurance, educational attainment, subscriptions, vehicles and commuting. The registry documents each concept and its population universe.

Schema and transformations

Exports include entity identifier and type, geographic code, indicator, value, unit, measurement type, reference period, source publication date, numerator, denominator, excluded category, direct margin of error, uncertainty note, status, source formula, source URL, release, boundary and acquisition date. The dictionary preserves original table labels and universes.

Website percentages use explicit sums and source denominators from a single table. Negative missing-value codes are never treated as observations. Source component MOEs remain in the raw tables; a derived MOE is not supplied. No significance test, median aggregation or historical ACS trend is produced. Separate editorial rankings order state point estimates descriptively, with source-specific uncertainty and frozen exports.

Rights and revision history

Original Census government works generally are not subject to U.S. copyright protection. Source attribution and definitions are retained. This rights record covers original aggregate Census statistics and does not grant blanket redistribution permission for third-party maps, location fabrics or other producers’ files.

Release apd-2026-09-30-r1 is the initial website publication. Source manifests retain the original URLs, retrieval date and full-file SHA256 checksums; selected raw geographic rows are available. Update review checks schema changes, geographic versions, formulas, missingness and source revisions before publication.
