How to use an answer in a sourced report
Choose the question that matches the statistical concept you need. A household income median is different from per-person earnings; a renter cost-burden percentage is different from monthly rent; insurance coverage is different from healthcare access. The answer sentence identifies the United States, the 2020–2024 survey period and the population being measured.
Follow the indicator link for the exact source formula and exclusions. Use the comparison tool for a state or county question instead of treating the national figure as a local estimate. The download preserves source counts and the frozen data version, so the sentence can be reproduced. An article date does not turn a five-year survey estimate into a current annual figure.
For broader comparisons, read the complete state rankings and original data articles. They show why different measures can produce different orderings.
